Confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa on 5 July 2020
SA’s Confirmed COVID-19 Cases: South Africa has now reported 8773 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as a result of the coronavirus, Department of Health confirmed on Sunday,5 July 2020.

Close to 9,000 new infections have been reported, bringing the total number of positive cases in South Africa to 196 750 which is close to 200,000.
Reported COVID-19 Deaths:
The Health Department also reported a further 173 COVID-19 related deaths. SA’s COVID-19 death toll is now at 3,199.
The recoveries to date are 93 315- this takes South Africa to a recovery rate of 47,4%.
The Health Department recorded 71 new deaths in Gauteng, 40 in the Western Cape, 29 in the Eastern Cape and 21 in KZN.
The Free State reported 10 deaths and the Northern Cape recorded two. The positive side is that Just over 93,000 of those who tested positive, have recovered.
